Rick Nolan

The National Republican Congressional Committee made an early target of Rick Nolan.  Political pundits consistently placed Nolan on their lists of “top ten most competitive House races in the country.”  Together with outside Koch Brothers-backed interest groups, the NRCC spent over $3 million against Nolan -- in addition to the resources of Nolan’s multi-millionaire, self-funding opponent.  We developed a campaign media plan that made great use of Nolan’s down-home, populism -- including passionate town hall meetings, an informal truck driving conversation, and testimonial appeals from real Minnesotans.   Although many pundits predicted a Republican victory (with public polls showing a statistically tied race), we helped Nolan overcome the odds and win in a challenging political climate for Democrats.
